Achebe Won't Sell Book Title For $1million

by  Administrator

AchebeNigerian Literary Icon, Albert Chinualumogu Achebe sees Curtis Jackson known as 50 Cent's Reuse of his book's title for his own film as an insult and rejects his $1m offer to hold onto the title.

Things Fall Apart -Achebe's classical novel published in 1958, his first book which was accepted worldwide and rated as Nigeria's most famous English novel listed as the most-read in modern African literature book is now being used again by Cent as the title of his own film already premiered in March at the Miami Film Festival, but Achebe refused his offer even his lawyer said that the title would not be sold for £1billion for that is an insult stating that the book was first published 1958, 17years before he was born and was in a way debasing.

50 Cent explained that he was busy throughout last year shooting the film. He wrote and financed himself, but now he has to change its title against his own volition due to Achebe's legal backing to “All Things Fall Apart” meaning that the film will be released soon but with another title.
