Flourishing Grace, FG, Limited, a Youth Leadership Foundation, has organised youth career seminar to equip Nigerian students with potentials to venture into business enterprises in the country. A second seminar aimed at equipping the students with the art of leadership, communication skills, conflict resolution and public speaking will be organized in July.According to Wale Hassan CEO at FG Limited these seminars are to furnish the students with professional guidance in making informed decision on their choice of career path, thus, a better economy for the next generation.
"FG limited in conjunction with Mind’s Eye has a passion for developing entrepreneurship in Nigeria which was what informed the programme."
Although he agreed that not all graduates can be entrepreneurs, Hassan is of the view that learning the skills of being a successful entrepreneur is vital particularly at a time of mass lay offs in the country.
One of the speakers at the event, Mr. Ope Banwo, managing partner, Banwo and Igbokwe is of the view that salary paid workers find it difficult attaining full success. For him, to be rich, one has to engage in business if not early in life but later. He however, explained that certain skills need to be acquired as building blocks for success to include passion, ability to deal with failure, ability to learn fast and a market ready product.
Mrs. Victoria Iroro, who spoke on intra-preneurship, explained the essence of having a job while also owning a personal business. She said this gives security and multiple streams if income as one source of income cannot be sure enough.
Other guests at the event were Mrs Belema Garricks, company secretary and legal adviser and Mr Sijuade Otegbeye, a motivational leadership expert.
Participants at the event expressed delight and called for more of such in the nearest future.
